From 1947-1985, the prime sandy soils of the area supported a thriving tobacco farm. In the mid-1970's, Ernie Racz initiated viability experiments on various peanut seed types. He discovered that the Valencia peanut was well suited to the light sandy soils and began growing commercially in 1982. You can learn more about how we grow and manufacture our peanuts on the Planting and Growing page.
Today, the family farm contains an entire peanut manufacturing, wholesale and retail operation.
